Gloria has been a school social worker and parent educator since 1981, working with elementary, middle, and high school students and families. She has also been involved in providing consultation, collaboration, and training to teachers and administrators in public and private elementary through high school settings, serving as a lecturer in the graduate program of social work at San Jose State University. Her areas of expertise include understanding children’s learning styles and creating successful learners; fostering resiliency in children; students with learning problems; and bullying and cyber-bullying prevention. She earned the master's degree in social work at University of California, Berkeley, with an Advanced Pupil Personnel Services credential to work in educational settings.
