Whether the child is 2 or 10, parents of “strong-willed” children often find themselves in a battle of wills, sometimes giving in just to make peace. Parents of sensitive children are often at a loss about helping their child not be overwhelmed either by stimulation of sounds and smells or their feelings. We will discuss alternatives to power struggles and how to negotiate “win-win” situations with strong-willed children as well as how to help sensitive children not be overwhelmed by feelings.
