Professional Training

Parents Place offers educational workshops for teachers about the developmental needs of children from preschool through high school. Our instructors hold advanced degrees in education, child development, or counseling, and are well versed in a wide range of topics: early childhood education through the high school years, children's developmental issues, parenting concerns, and many other related subjects. Contact us to arrange a workshop tailored to the needs of your school and teachers.

What Do Young Children REALLY Need?  (A FREE training)

This is a practical, hands-on teacher training program that will help you:

  • Understand the foundations of social/emotional well being in young children and your critical role in supporting their development
  • Help children develop self-regulation skills and better manage their angry feelings
  • Learn to recognize "teachable moments" and use them effectively
  • Practice new skills that help minimize challenging behaviors

Based on the latest research from the Center on the Social & Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL).  Includes professional hours.  Register here.
