Center for Special Needs

The Parents Place Center for Special Needs provides a continuum of care for children (and families) with learning, behavioral, physical, developmental, neurological, and emotional disabilities. Our mission is to optimize children’s emotional and social well-being and development and to help children with special needs achieve their highest potential.

You're Not Alone

Thousands of children in California have special health care needs. In the Bay Area, almost 10% of parents report children with learning disabilities, and 6% report children with disabling medical or physical conditions. Other children face social-emotional and behavioral difficulties caused by speech or language delays, learning disabilities, focus problems, early traumatic experiences, or unmet emotional needs. Many barriers stand in the way of access to care, especially because the delivery system for services to those with different types of needs is complex. Parents Place can help with observation, advocacy, and referrals.
