Parent / Child Activities

Parents Place is a caring, family resource center with two Peninsula locations that offer quarterly Parent/Child workshops and a wonderful drop-in play center for parents with their children, ages 0 - 5. The Palo Alto Drop-In is open Tuesday/Thursday from 10:30 - Noon and Wednesday from 3:30 - 5 p.m.  The San Mateo Drop-In is open Tuesday/Friday, 9:30 - 11 a.m. and Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. - Noon.

• Drop-In- Ask the Special Education Expert - First Thursday - Nirit Zandman, coordinator of the Center for Special Needs will attend. It is an opportunity for parents to ask questions or share concerns about their children.
• Wednesday Drop In Center - Enjoy our playroom with your child ages birth - 5 years. No pre-registration is needed to attend the drop-in.
• Twins Drop In (birth - age 5) (September) - First Friday of the month, bring your twins and other siblings and meet other families. Share and discuss tips for raising multiples.
• Toddler Social Club (16 - 24 months) (April) - Discuss the joys and challenges of getting to know your toddler!
• Terrific Twos - Getting Ready for Preschool (2-3 years) (April) - While children learn to separate from their parents and play in a preschool-like setting, parents discuss the developmental changes of the the two year old.
• Music Together - 9:30 a.m. (Birth - 4 years) (April) - A joyful musical experience for parents or caregivers and children, with singing, dancing,a nd instrument play.
• Music Together - 10:30 (Birth to age 4) (April) - A joyful musical experience for parents and caregivers and children with singing, dancing, and instrument play.
• Music Together - 11:30 a.m. (Birth - Age 4) (April) - A joyful musical experience for parents or caregivers and children, with singing, dancing, and instrument play.
• Kids Sing (3 1/2 - 5 years) (April) - An exciting Kodaly-based music program for preschoolers ready to learn basic music literacy skills through circle singing games, dancing, chants, improvisation, and instrument play.
