The fields of intervention and infant/early childhood mental health have sometimes been seen as exisitng within different spheres, yet they have at their core, the shared intention of supporting optimal early development.  This unique training will highlight the multiple ways in which an infant/early childhood mental health perspective can inform early intervention methods.

This seminar series will specifically focus on the essential relational aspects of development, and will pay close attention to how parents view and relate to their babies at highly vulnerable times, how the infant or young child with developmental challenges influences and impacts the parent-child relationship, and how we as practitioners view, understand, reflect upon, and respond to the child’s primary partners- the parents. This is a three day class with content that builds upon each day; please be prepared to attend the entire series. Your registration is for the entire three day class. Your email confirmation is your entry ticket.  Please print this out and bring to the first lecture.  Contact Kristin Reinsberg for additional information at kristinr@jfcs.org.
