Thinking or talking about estate planning is often difficult. It is hard to think about our own mortality and even harder to think about incapacity and/or the loss of those we love. Yet taking the initiative to plan ahead is a loving thing to do for you and your loved ones.
This presentation will provide an overview on estate planning basics, including how to protect your estate, name guardians for your children, set up special needs trusts for incapacitated family members, create trusts to provide for your family in the event of your incapacity or death, and explain the necessity of durable powers of attorney and advanced health care directives.
