Academic Year and Summer InternshipsYouthFirst offers internships during the summer and academic year for exceptional 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. Our internship programs are terrific opportunities for high school students to gain valuable experience working in various JFCS departments. In addition to opportunities at JFCS, teens are also placed in positions in the San Francisco community. While they learn important on-the-job skills, they also attend workshops focusing on a wide range of topics, including office etiquette, responsible work behavior, techniques to research job opportunities, résumé and cover-letter writing, informational and general interviewing skills, the work of JFCS as a social service agency, diversity issues, and values exploration. What's more, teens gain greater clarity about academic and vocational options and opportunities. The internship programs enhance their understanding of the steps they need to take to achieve their academic and career goals. Pay for WorkThe internship programs pay $9.92 per hour and require 6 - 10 hours of work per week during the academic year and 20 hours per week during the summer.
