Post Adoption Services Presents a FREE Daylong Training with Daniel J. Sonkin, PhD, LMFT:Attachment Theory, Neuroscience, and Post-Adoption When: June 3, 2011, 9:00 am - 4:30 pm, Lunch from 12:30-1:30pm 'on your own'. Where: Sonoma Mountain Village, Conference Center, 1100 Valley House Dr., Rohnert Park Who Should Attend: Professional therapists from Sonoma, Lake, Mendocino, and Napa counties who are working with families formed by adoption. This course meets the qualifications for 6 hours of continuing eduation credit for MFTs and LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Fee for CEU $25. About the Workshop: This workshop is designed to help clinicians integrate the large body of attachment theory and neuoscience research that has evolved over the past several decades into their practice with post-adoption families. It will include a discussion of the neurobiological aspects of attahment behaviors - such as social cognition, emotion regulation, and memory - and how these neural capacities develop in infants and children, ultimately affecting emotion regulation, social adjustment, and mental health.
